Alex Collins

Senior Paralegal

Alex Collins is an experienced paralegal with a strong background in immigration law, particularly in asylum, deportation defense, and humanitarian relief. Prior to Co-Counsel, Alex worked at Centro Legal de la Raza in Oakland, where she prepared and filed asylum applications, naturalization documents, and U visas, while managing active caseloads and providing client support. She previously served on the Detention Team at the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago, where she conducted legal orientations and assisted detained individuals with applications for relief such as asylum and protection under the Convention Against Torture. Alex has also volunteered with organizations like the CAIR Coalition and New Sanctuary Coalition, contributing to legal efforts for detained immigrants and asylum seekers. Fluent in Spanish, she is committed to supporting vulnerable immigrant populations, leveraging her language skills and legal expertise. Alex holds a B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and has completed various specialized courses in immigration law. Alex is in the process of being DOJ Accredited with Co-Counsel NYC. In her free time, Alex is an active member of “Skee There or Skee Square”, her weekly skeeball team.
